We’ve always made them from scratch but I think this would be great to do instead and to give away as gifts. Thanks for a great idea!

I build a gingerbread house with my kids every year and they very much look forward to this tradition. I use an icing my son found on the internet that dries pretty quickly and does a great job of holding together the pre-baked pieces. I love these kits. They make those of us with limited talent look a super mom.

  18. I never tried to build a Gingerbread house. I saw Martha’s side has some ideas too. I prefer this one since it comes with the kit. The kids would love to build one so with the kit it is easier.

    Thanks for sharing :)

About Me

Motherhood is full of laughter and tears and surprises. It’s the most wonderful thing I’ve ever done. What started out as a way to chronicle my son’s first year of life has evolved into Rockin’ Mama. Because despite the fact that being a mom is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, it rocks! I’m a NICU nurse by day, blogger by night. My husband and I savor the warm Southern California sun. We love to travel…so much so that we spent 8 weeks backpacking Europe before moving to Edinburgh, Scotland where we found out I was pregnant with my son. I am a babywearing, co-sleeping, breastfeeding mama whose passions include health, fitness, and all things eco-friendly. If I’m not running after my 2 year old son…or my husband…you can find me frequenting the local tea room, shopping, baking, or reading. We’re also expecting number 2 in January!
